Notice that we can prove - in an offhand manner - that 0! = 1

Note

3! = 4! / 4   and

2! = 3! / 3   and

1! = 2! / 2   

So

0!  = 1! / 1   = 1/ 1   = 1

12+5x-8=12x-10

First see if you can simplfy either side

4+5x=12x-10

Now subtract 5x from both sides.

Then add 10 to both sides.

Can you take it from there?  Have a go and get back to us. :)

Just add 84 and 90......then "tack on" the 30 minutes.

And, if you want the decimal approximation for the minutes, remember that 30 minutes = .5 °

It is possible that this equation was meant to be:

$$\frac{14}{x^2-9}+\frac{6}{x-3}=\frac{8}{x+3}$$

in which case, multiply all terms by x² -9

$$14+\frac{6(x^2-9)}{x-3}=\frac{8(x^2-9))}{x+3}$$

Express x² - 9 as (x+3)(x-3) and cancel as appropriate

$$14+6(x+3)=8(x-3)$$

Expand bracketed terms and collect like terms on the same side

$$14+18+24=8x-6x$$

$$56=2x$$

$$x=28$$
