No gmitc1416... what CP means is that the average adult only uses his/her thinking capacity at a fourth grade level, this is why you gotta go to school and use this knowledge to your advantage. WE MUST BECOME THE DIFFERENCE! Anyways I'm hopeless in this segment of math so I have no input towards to the question.
The easiest way to go about this is TRIAL AND ERROR, so I'll do so.
Our numbers are 8, 9, 19, 22, 25, 26
Now multiplying any of the two digit numbers in the same combo is a no go, you'll get over 208 and multiplying 8 by 9 gets you 72 so we know those are out.
- Lets try 8 and 19... They equal 152, closer but not what we need
- How about 8 and 22...? Drats, 176.
- Okay I'm sure 8 and 25 can do it... Nope... we got 200.
- I give up... just go with 8 and 26... What? You mean to tell me we got it? 8 times 26 is 208? Oh, well okay then the combination is 8 and 26.
Hope some humor helped you with this. c:
Okay so Katie you understand how make an system out of this correct?
If so I'll show you my method of solving these types of problems.
Instead of thinking of it as money I think of the pennies and nickels as a value of .01 and .05, respectively. The total amount will take the value of 2.70.
So in order to solve a problem like this you need a system.
Let "p" be pennies and "n" be nickels.
If the total amount of pennies and nickels have a value of 2.70 and there are 54 more pennies than nickels you'll get a system like this:
n + 54 = p
n(0.05) + p(0.01) = 2.70
Now I think I should leave the rest to you. If you don't know systems let me know.
