For either of the two angles in a right triangle, other than the right angle itself, sin(angle)=opposite over hypotenuse, cos(angle)=adjacent over hypotenuse, and tan(angle)=opposite over adjacent

 

1.  sin(26.5)=y/15      y=15*sin(26.5) ≈ 6.69 ft

 

2. sin(theta)=8/17, cos(theta)=15/17, tan(theta)=8/15

 

3. not answerable - there is no figure showing x

We know the adjacent side = 15 and the hypotenuse  = 29

 

So....we can use the cosine inverse to find x

 

arccos (15/29)  = x  ≈   58.85°
