Raka226 is correct, but here's a little more detail of the process:

2(2 - j) = 4 (j + 10)

Distribute the 2 over the 2-j and the 4 over the j + 10:

4 - 2j = 4j + 40

Add 2j to both sides

4 = 6j + 40

Subtract 40 from both sides:

-36 = 6j

Divide both sides by 6:

-6 = j

or just j = -6

.

j=-6 :)

j needs to be by its self on one side

2(2-j)=4(j+10)

2 is mulitpled by the answer to (2-j)

4 is mulitpled by the answer to (j+10)
