Hallo,

Can you please help me to work out how to plant my orchid? I have a hectare for Lemon trees. I have to plant the trees 3 meters apart on all sides. Thus, 3 meters on all side of the tree till the next one. How many trees will I need to plant the full hectare?

Thank you.

If you have one hectare of land, then that means you have:

100 meters x 100 meters =10,000 square meters. And if want to plant your lemon trees 3 meters apart in every direction, then you have: 3 meters x 3 meters =9 square meters for each tree. So then, all you have to do is to divide your hectare into a grid in such a way as to have horizontal and vertical rows and columns of trees, if you were to look at them from above.

And to plant them in that manner, all you need is to divide your 10,000 meters by 9 meters that each tree requires and you will have: 10,000 / 9 =1,111 total trees or about 33 trees in each row  and column up and down and across your entire property.
