any number times 1 is itself. Therefore 5/8*1=5/8

Any number divided by a fraction in basically that number times the reciprocal of the second number. The reciprocal of a fraction is just the denominator and the numerator switched.

1/2 / 15/16 (note here the / in between the two numbers is divide)

= 1/2 * 16/15

=16/30

=8/15

what is 5/8 x 1 and 1/2 divided by 15/16

If you mean: [5/8 x 1 1/2] / [15/6] =

[5/8 x 3/2]  x  [6/15] =

15/16  x  6/15  =

90 / 240 = divide both sides by 30

3 / 8 = 0.375
