Consider two events such that P(A) =1/2 , P(B) =3/5 , and P(A ∩ B) = 3/10. Are events A and B independent events?

If P(A and B) = P(A)*P(B), then they are independent....so....

 

(3/10)  = (1/2) * (3/5)   

 

(3/10)  =  (3/10)      ...so......they are independent
