$$f(x)=17-x^2$$

The domain is all the possible values of x (they must have a corresponding f(x) value)

Any positive x will work

Any negative x will work

x=0 works

so domain is All real x

Domain:     $$\{x:x\in Z\}$$

I'm am not sure about set notation but I think this is how you write x is in the set ot real numbers.
