We need to find the radius......the area is given by

36   =  pi (radius)^2    divide both sides by

36 / pi  = (radius)^2     take the square root of both sides

sqrt (36 / pi)  =  radius  =   6 / sqrt(pi)

And the circumference is given by :

2 * pi * radius

2 * pi * 6/ sqrt (pi)   =

12sqrt(pi) ≈ 21.27  in
