I'll do the first one....you can try the second

 

 (-4, 3) and (2,-7)

 

Find the slope  

 

[ subtract the y coordinates in some order]            [-7 -3]         -10      -5

____________________________________ =   ______  =    __ =   __

[subtract the x coordinates in the same order]       [2 - -4 ]         6        3 

 

Using the slope   and either point - I'll use (2, -7) -  we have

 

y  =  slope ( x -  x coordinate of point)  +  y coordinate of point

 

y =  (-5/3) ( x - 2)  -  7  simplify

 

y = (-5/3)x + 10/3  - 7

 

y = (-5/3)x + 10/3 - 21/3

 

y = (-5/3)x - 11/3
