The function š‘“(š‘„) = (2/5)š‘„ is shown on the coordinate plane. Describe the end behavior of f(x).

As x decreases without bound, the graph of f(x) ______________________________.

As x increases without bound, the graph of f(x) ______________________________.

The exponential function in the graph shows the mass, in grams, of a radioactive substance as it decays over time, in hours. The linear function in the table represents the increase in a substanceā€™s mass, in grams, over time, in hours.

How does the y-intercept of the exponential function compare to the y-intercept of the linear function?

a. 10 less than

b. 10 more than

c. 2 more than

d. 2 less than

As x decreases without bound......the graph of f(x) increases without bound

As x increases without bound.......the graph of f(x) decreases  but is bounded below by 0

________________________________________________

The y intercept for the exponential function  is (0,10)

For the linear function......y decreases by 4  every time that x decreases by 1

So  when x decreases by 2, y decreases by 8

So.......from (2, 20)    the y intercept  is  ( 0, 12)

So    .... the linear function  is  2 more
