I don't believe you can because they are multiples of each other, i.e., 2, 4, 8 WITHOUT repeats. With repeats you can such as 8/8=1+(2X4)=9.....and so on.

Our maths teacher said it can definitely be done. He may have used Sqaure Roots etc!

How about this: square this whole thing (24/8)=3^2=9? If your teacher is allowed to take square roots, then we should be allowed to do the opposite!!. What do think young person?
