Julie bought 2 1/2 pounds of mints to serve at the wedding reception. She plans to place a candy dish of mints on each of the 3 tables at the reception. Each table will seat 10 people. If the mints are shared equally, what will be the serving size in pounds for each person?

If there are 3 tables and 10 people at each, the 2.5 lbs. will be divide into 30 equal parts....thus....

[2.5 /30] lbs  =  [ 25 / 300 ] lbs =   [1/12] lbs. per person
