Rearrange to get t 1/2=30-t then square both sides, expand the right-hand side and collect terms. You will have a quadratic equation in t from which you can find two values for t (the quadratic factorises nicely).

Another approach is to let x = t 1/2, so the equation becomes x+x 2=30. This is also a quadratic that factors nicely to give two values for x. Having found the values for x you then need to square them to get back the corresponding values for t.

I should have added that only one of the two solutions found from the quadratic equations satisfies the original equation.
