y  =  4x - 19

2x + y  =  95

Substitute  4x - 19  for  y  into the second equation.

2x + (4x - 19)  =  95

2x + 4x - 19  =  95

2x + 4x  =  95 + 19

6x  =  114

x  =  114/6   =   19
