Why do CPhill's answers get automatically checked? he could make mistakes ya know.

Yes  that is true but there is not enough time for a second person to check all answers.

The ticks are more an indication that someone has  given a genuine answer. (or at least genuinely attempted to)

The asker should not automatically assume that the answer is correct, even if it has been ticked.  

It is up to the asker to decide if the answer is to be accepted or rejected.  Askers (and other people)  are always welcome to question what we write.  

We really like people to interact with us.
