Ratio

At a funfair the ratio of the number of adults to the number of children was 7:36.the ratio of the number of men to women was 3:2.what was the ratio of the number of women to the number of children?

Let the number of adults be some multiple of 7 that is divisible by 5 = 35

Let the number of children = 5 * 36  =  180

Note that 35 : 180   still equals   7 : 36

If the men to women  = 3 : 2    there were   (3/5)(35)  = 21 men  

and   (2/5)(35) = 14 women

So....the ratio of  women to children  = 14 / 180

2/5 x 7/36 =14/180 =7/90 - The Ratio of women to children.
