Renee drew the net below consisting of 4 congruent triangles and a square. It can be folded into a square pyramid. What is the total surface area of the pyramid when folded?

100 in. 2
115 in. 2
160 in. 2
220 in. 2

The base is  (10 in )^2   = 100 in^2

There are 4 triangles each having an area of (1/2)(10)(3) = 15 in^2

So 4 times this is  4 (15 in^2) = 60 in^2

So....the total surface area = (100 + 60) in^2   = 160 in^2

How do you fold this into a square pyramid?  Even when the triangles are folded flat the combined distance of two of them is only 6 inches, so even when flat thay don't span a 10 inch base!
