how do you find slope

slope = \(\frac{\text{change in y value between two points}}{\text{change in x value between two points}}\)

 

or you can say.....

slope = \(\frac{\text{rise}}{\text{run}}\)

 

If you are given two points,    ( x1 , y1 )   and   ( x2 , y2 )

slope = \(\frac{y_1-y_2}{x_1-x_2}\)
