add 1 to both sides then divide both sides by 6.

 

You do not need to reverse the sign or anything like that.

add 1 to both sides

6f - 1 (+1) ≤ -7(+1)

6f ≤ -6

divide by six to both sides

\(\frac{6f}{6} = \frac{-6}{6}\)

simply

f = -1
