 6x+4y=34        multiply through by  -1   →    -6x  - 4y  - 34       (1)

 6x+15y=78          (2)

Add (1)  and (2)   and we get

11y  = 44    divide both sides by 11

y  = 4

Put this into any equation to solve for x

6x + 4(4)   = 34

6x + 16  = 34   subtract 16 from both sides

6x  = 18     divide both sides by 6

x  = 3
