The coast-down time y for a car as it drops 10mph from am initail speed x depends on sevral factors, such as avarge drag, tire pressure, and whether the transmission is in nutral. The following gives coast-down time in seconds for a car under standard conditions for selected speeds.

Intital speed          coast-down time                initial speed              coast-down time

(in mph)                   (in seconds)                   (in mph)                      (in seconds)

30                                 29                              50                                18

35                                 27                              55                                15

40                                 23                              60                                14

45                                 20                              65                                13

Use a quadratic regression feature of graphing caculator to find the quadratic function g that best fits the data.

Form your answer in g(x)=__x^2-__x+__.

Round to four decimal places.

my math teacher gave this to the whole class and no one solved it.
