If  s  represents the value of each side of an isosceles right triangle and  h  represents the value of the hypotenuse,

then  h = s·√(2)  and  s = h/√(2)  or  s = h·√(2) /2

So:

if h = 4   --->   s  = 4·√(2) /2  =  2·√(2)

if h = 5   --->   s  = 5·√(2) /2 

if h = 3·√(2)   --->    h  =  3·√(2)·√(2) /2  =  3
