Thank you anonymous.

This is the BEST way to re-ask if you question has slipped back a long way.

If your question is still on the first page please just be patient.

(2x^5 + 3x^2)(x^4 - 4x^2 + 3x - 8)

Multiply the terms in the first set of parentheses over the four terms in the second set of parentheses...so we have

(2x^5 + 3x^2)(x^4) =        2x^9                 + 3x^6

(2x^5 + 3x^2)(-4x^2) =                 -8x^7                            -12x^4

(2x^5 + 3x^2)(3x)                                       + 6x^6                         + 9x^3

(2x^5 + 3x^2)(-8)                                                      -16x^5                         -24x^2

Adding down, we have   2x^9  - 8x^7 + 9x^6  -16x^5  -12x^4  + 9x^3 - 24x^2
