A zoologist tagged 4 tortises in a consevation area. The average weight of the 4 tortisis was 87 pounds. The zoologist added 2 more tortises. The average weight of all 6 tortises was 90 pounds what was the average weight of the last 2 tortises

 

 

 

I think i spelled tortise wrong lol its fine

90 = (4*87 + 2*w)/6. where w is the average weight of the last two tortoises.

 

Rearrange:

 

w = (6*90 - 4*87)/2 

 

w = 96 pounds
