Sorry I'm not CPhill, but I'll helped!

a) There are 3600 seconds in an hour, since 60*60=3600.

Significant figure: all digits in a number

3600= 3 6 0 0

a) 3600 rounded to one significant digit   =   4000

b)  212   rounded to one significant digit  =  200  mph

Time  to   travel one  mile =

(1/200)   *  4000  =   20 seconds

c)  Exact result  =

(1/212) * 3600  ≈   16.98  sec

So.....  an over-estimate....

b) 212mph will be equal to 2 1 2......

In 1 second, this plane will travel 212/3600 miles or 0.058888 (0.06) miles

c) My estimate (For decimal) is probably an overestimate since I rounded a repeating decimal UP.

Hope all of this helped!
