She would first pay    20%  of  [ 43000 - 11000]  =  .20 [ 32000] =  £ 6400

 

Additionally  she would pay 40% of   [ 45600 - 43000 ] = .40 [ 2600] =  £ 1040

 

So....her total tax bill is

 

£ [ 6400 + 1040 ] =      £ 7440
