The point (0,-14)  is on the graph

Thus in the form x^2 + bx + c.     c  =  -14

Also, the point (2,0)  is on the graph  which means that we have

0 = (2)^2  + b(2)   -14      simplify

0 = 4 + 2b   - 14

0 = -10 + 2b

10  = 2b

5   = b

So  the  function is   ax^2  + bx + c    =   1x^2  +  5b  -14

The  turning point occurs at the vertex......the  x coordinate is given by   -b  /(2a)  =  -5/ (2 * 1)  =  -5/2
