First one

X'    =  all the elements that are NOT contained in X

This is represented by  graph   "C"

Second one

Let the universal set U  = { 1, 2, 3 , 4 }

Let X  = { 1,2}

Let Y = { 2,3)

Y ' = { 1, 4 }

So

X U Y '   =   ( 1,2) U (1,4}  =   (1, 2, 4 }

Graph D is correct

Last one

Let  the universal set U  = {1,2,3,4}

Let X  = {1,2}

So X '  =  all the elements not in X  = { 3, 4}

Let Y  = {2,3}

So Y '  = allthe elements not in Y  =  { 1,4}

So

X ' ∩ Y '   =   { 3,4}  ∩ {1,4}  =    {4}

Graph B is correct
