x^4 - 2x^3 - 103x^2 + 200x + 300

Split    -103x^2   into   -3x^2 - 100x^2    and we have

x^4 - 2x^3 - 3x^2 - 100x^2 + 200x + 300    this factors as

x^2 ( x^2 - 2x - 3) - 100 (x^2 - 2x - 3 )

(x^2 -100) ( x^2 - 2x - 3)

(x + 10) ( x - 10) (x  - 3) ( x + 1)

Setting each factor to 0 and solving for x, the roots are   x = -10, -1, 3  and 10

cool cool cool
