Computations are often easier if there are no fractions. Multiply each term by 2 to get rid of all the denominators:

2(3/2x) - 2(5)  =  2(-5/2)

3x - 10  =  -5

Add ten to both sides:

3x  =  5

Divide both sides by 3:

x  =  5/3
