30 divided by -3/4

When a number is divided by a fraction, you multiply it by the fraction's reciprocal (flip the numerator and denominator).

So 30/ (-3/4)

= 30 * (-4/3)

Multiply the numerators and denominators.

= (30*-4) / (1*3)

= -120/3

Simplify.

= -40

Another way would be to write -3/4 as the decimal -0.75

Then, divide 30 by -0.75

= -40

Hi Kitty,

I see you have your username back.  Andre said he was going to email you a link.

that question you just did you couold have cancelled the 3 with the 30, that may have been a smidge easier.  you probably thought of that and it certainly doesn't matter.

It is nice to see you on the forum.  It is always nice to see you.
