Enter 8 first, then press "x^y" key followed by 1.7 and finally press = sign to get your answer.

or you can type it straight into the input line as 8^1.7=     :)

Or if you're like someone who is too lazy to do any of that stuff, you can simply ask Siri or Google, just remember to use those sources wisely, as they might confuse with what you're saying and come up with a completely different result

I was actually on my what 2 month disappearance studying the new situation I'm in, appearently on my schedule back in August I for some reason got in the Gifted And Talented Education (it's pretty much the smart kids pack in the school) even though I was not in it last year

I avoided GATE last year because I predicted the  GATE program would be too lame for me, with a bunch of schoolmates I didn't really know that well, a lot more critical grading system, and more strict teachers

and 8th grade was getting weird 

so I went and studyed all over the school learning the ways of 8th Grade and the GATE program, and I mastered most of it by now, but back in August I wasn't doing as well as I used to be, and it ...
