(x^3 - 2) (2x -3) = 2 x^4 - 3 x^3 - 4 x + 6

Equating coefficients, we have

a = 2

b = -3

3 = -4x + 6  →  -3 = -4x      →  x = 3/4

So...the polynomial in the numerator is :

2x^4 - 3x^3 + 3

And

a = 2,  b = -3

cool cool cool
