I could not be sure whether the question meant f of x, or f * x. So, I may have been wrong. Sorry if misinterpreted the question! Thank you for pointing that out Melody.

f(-4)=-x^2-3x+1

substitution

-4^2-3*-4+1=f

(Applying order of operations)

Simplify the exponent first

16-3*-4+1=f

Then multiplication

16+12+1=f

Finally, addition

29=f

Ask me if you have any questions!!!

I am sorry but the question is wrong and so is your answer silver

f(x)=-x^2-3x+1

find    f(-4)

f(-4)=-(-4)^2-3*-4+1 = -16+12+1=-3
