A gardener has an area of 225 square feet. How much fencing will the gardener need to buy in order to place it around the garden?
I'm assuming that the garden is in the shape of a square [ if not, there might be infinite possibilities]
So the area of a square is just the side squared and we have
side2 = 225 take the square root of both sides
side = sqrt (225) = 15 ft
So each side is 15ft and there are 4 of them....so we need 15 x 4 = 60 ft of fencing
If his garden is a perfect square(with all sides equal), then we just take the sq root of the total area of 225 sq.feet=15 feet, so the total length of fence needed would be 15 x 4=60 feet
