using the distance formula, solve the following points;
1.
G = (-7,3)
H = (1,12)
c = (-3,-9)
2.
J = (9,-8)
K = (7,-4)
L = (2,-1)
1.
G = (-7,3)
H = (1,12)
c = (-3,-9)
I assume that these are vertices of a triangle and you want to know the length of each side
We need to use the distance formula
GH = √ ( [ -7 -1 ] ^2 + [ 3 - 12]^2 ) = √ ( [-8]^2 + [ -9]^2 ) = √[64 + 81] = √145
Gc = √ ( [ -7 - -3]^2 + [3 - - 9]^2 ) = √ ( [ -4]^2 + [ 12]^2 ) = √ ( 16 + 144) = √ 160 = 4√10
Hc = √ ( [ -3 - 1]^2 + [ -9 - 12]^2 ) = √ ( [-4]^2 + [-21]^2 ) = √ [ 16 + 441) = √457
Can you do the second one, kathh22 ???
