the nth term of a pattern is 3n+7

a.) what is the term number for the first term (BLANK) Subsitute n+(blank) into  3n+7

B.) which term has each of these term numbers (49,118,39)

 

 

 

The term number for the term value of 49 is.....

The term number for the term value of 118 is....

The term number for the term value 39 is......

A)    The first term   is just   3(1)  + 7   =  3 + 7   = 10

 

B)     3n +  7   = 49     subtract 7 from both sides

   

        3n     =  42         divide both sides by 3

 

          n  =   14         [  49   is the 14th term]

 

Can you figure out  the last two ?? 118 ......   and   I think "39'   should be "37"
