If a triangle's base is 8 and its height is 6 less than its area. Then the area=

So we have

Area =(1/2)(Base)(Height)

A = (1/2)(8)(A - 6)

A = 4(A - 6)

A = 4a - 24    subtract 4a from both sides

-3A = -24      divide both sides by -3

A  = 8 sq. units

Area=Base*Height/2

The rest?  Not sure.....
