Yes. A prime number is any number not divisible by a number other than 1, and the only factors of 1 are 1, one, uno, and hana.
Prior to the 20th century 1 was considered to be a prime number. However, it is no longer considered to be so because of the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic which says that any positive integer greater than 1 can be expressed as a unique product of primes.
For example, 12 is 2*2*3
If 1 were a prime then this is no longer unique because we could also have 1*2*2*3 or 1*1*2*2*3 or 1*1*1*1*....*1*2*2*3 etc.
The Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic was considered to be so important that 1's prime status was rescinded!
