If hot dogs are sold in packages of 10 and buns are sold in packages of 8, how many packages of each would you need to buy to get an equal number of each?

10= 2 X 5

8 =2 X 2 X 2

The LCM of 8 and 10=2 X 2 X 2 X 5=40, therfore you need to buy:

40/10=4 packages of hot dogs, and

40/8 =5 packages of buns.
