One endpoint of a line segment is at (1, 2). The line is bisected by placing the midpoint of the line segment at (5, 8). What are the coordinates of the other endpoint?
x value 1+4=5 5+4=9
y value 2+6=8 8+6=14
So the other end will be (9,14)
Can you see how I did that? Oh, and can you see why it would work?
Try plotting it on a graph then you may see more easily. :)
