how do put the negative 2 to the seconed power???

Thanks for answering Joshie17  but i think what you have said is a bit confusing.

 

\(-2^2 = -1*2^2 = -1*4 = -4\\ however\\ (-2)^2=-2*-2=+4\)

 

 

So it depends on what your question really is.  :))

If you mean -2^2=4 this is also the same as writing -2*-2=4

 

This is because if you multiply a negative by a negative you get a positive. As well as 2*2=4

 

Any number to an even amount of exponents(power) it is always positive

Any negative number to an odd amount of exponents(power) it is always negative
