measure of angle 1 is x-5 degrees and angle 2 is 4x. They are complementary angles and I need to find the measure.

Complementary angles are angles that sum to 90°, so:

(x - 5) + (4x)  =  90°

            5x - 5  =  90°

                  5x  =  95°

                    x  =  19°

x - 5  =  19 - 5  =  14°

4x  =  4(19)  =  76°
