Why does (-2)squared equal positive four while regular -2 squared equals negative four.
(-2)^2 is really ( -1 * 2)^2 = (-1)^2 * (2)^2 = 1 * 4 = 4
But
-2^2 is -1 * (2)^2 = -1 * 4 = -4
This points up the fact that parentheses are important .....!!!!
