# Problems with LaTex

Latex has not displayed properly for a couple of weeks now.

Have other people had a problem or is it just my display?

For instance, this answer of Hectictar only displays as coding for me, it does not display as it should.

http://web2.0calc.com/questions/which-graph-represents-the-function-g-x-3-x-2-4#r1

Some LaTex is displaying properly but none of my own posts are displaying as they should and a lot of others arn't either.

It has been suggested that I should purge my cahe and cookies. I did that but it didn't help.

It was suggested that I see if LaTes is displaying properly on other sites - well it is.

Any other comments or suggestions ??

Thanks all :)

I am getting this problem, but it clears up after a refresh for me...on another latex note, when I open up one of the tabs with the input buttons, the buttons are hidden behind the typing area. This really bugs me as I have not memorized the inputs yet...

It is really strange becasue some, like this one

http://web2.0calc.com/questions/let-a-b-be-real-numbers-and-let-x_1-x_2-be-the-roots

display properly bot most, like Hectictars or any that I write, do not.

So if I enter the quadratic equation.

$$x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}$$

The display works properly as I write it.

I expect the preview will display properly. I'll check in a moment and amend this sentence if it is wrong.

BUT  when I make the post it will display only as the raw LaTex code. (I'll amend this if it does display properly but I do not think that it will.

That is really weird!!

The question you linked to does not display properly for me.

I see dollar signs around the LaTeX, like this

$\frac{\sqrt2}{2}$     That might show up for you!

But this website I think uses  \ (  and  \ )  , without spaces, around the LaTeX.

Sometimes I've noticed that the LaTeX does not display in the question at first, but then after somebody posts an answer with LaTeX in it, the question displays properly.

We seem to be seeing opposite questions display properly/impropery.    Super weird!

Your    sqrt2/2  that you just posted,  is displaying properly for me  but   it sounds like it was not displaying properly for you?

The  $\frac{sqrt2}{2}$  does not display in LaTeX for me.

What you just wrote  is  displaying properly for me!

Of course the sqrt is in words not in the symbol but since you did not include the back slash this is exactly how it is suppose to display!!

Your fraction is displaying perfectly for me !

More observations on La Tex display:

1)  In this question.

http://web2.0calc.com/questions/what-is-the-smallest-distance-between-the-origin_1

The LaTex is displaying properly in the heading but then only the coding is displayed in the body of the post.

That is my view of course.

---------------------------------------------------------

2)   In this one the LaTex in the question is displaying perfectly  BUT the LaTex in Hectictar's answer is just displayed as a mass of code.

http://web2.0calc.com/questions/help_41734

3)  When I post any LaTex it displays when I leave the LaTex box, I mean id displays properly after I press [ok] but it  never displays properly in the final post.

-------------------------------------------------------------

4)  The latex in this question displays completely properly.

https://web2.0calc.com/questions/math-help-2

--------------------------------------------------------

5)  HERE is an interesting one:

https://web2.0calc.com/questions/determine-the-number-of-positive-integers-a-less#r3

If I go in to edit this post by Heureka it displays perfectly BUT

if I view it normally then half the LaTex displays almost properly and the other half is shown as code.

The table and the array display properly except at the beginning of each there is   $$displayed and at the end$$  displays

The rest of the LaTex displays as code.

$$x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}$$

The pre-preview display that I am looking at now is perfect

But I will see the proper preview and the final post only as code.
