Let a and b be the solutions to 5x^2 - 11x + 4 = 4x^2 + 11x + 13. Find \frac{1}{a} + \frac{1}{b}.

1/a  +   1/b =    (a + b)   /  (ab)

x^2 - 22x  - 9  =   0

Sum of roots  = a + b =  - (-22) / 1  = 22

Product of roots  = ab  =  -9/1 =  -9

So

(a + b) / (ab) =   22 /  -9
