I believe the second one is this....

5(3x+1)¼=10     divide both sides by 5

(3x+1)¼= 2       raise each side to the 4th power

3x + 1  = 16       subtract 1 from both sides

3x = 15              divide both sides by 3

x = 5

sqrtx = -3 --> No solution since square root of x will be positive.

 

5(3x+1)¼=10 -->

(3x+1)¼= 2 -->

(3x + 1) = 8 -->

3x = 7 -->

x = 7/3.
