T(n) = 3n-1

T(3)=3*3 - 1=8, However, it depends on what you want your 1st. term to be.

If you start with: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4....etc., then the terms will be: -1, 2, 5, 8, 11.....etc. And as the result of this, your 3rd term will be:5 instead of 8, and so on.
