In two dimensions, two lines are paralel if they are running in exactly the same direction.  Yes 
Tahlalia is correct.  The two lines will never touch.  If they are drawn in a number plane they will have exactly the same gradient.

They are like the tracks of a train on a very straight part of the railway line.
